RDS Security Problems?

coldfusion Erki Esken posted a comment on Ben Forta's blog asking if the source to the RDS plugin for Eclipse would be released. Forta's response was:

Studio 8 drops the MX

coldfusion misc I just noticed that Macromedia Studio 8 has dropped the MX branding that all their web development products have had for the last few years.

ColdFusion version 7 still has the MX branding, and was released about 6 months ago.

Macromedia and OS X v10.4 / Tiger Compatibility

apple Note that if you plan to use Dreamweaver, FreeHand, or Contribute on Mac OS X 10.4, Tiger, there are some known issues that Macromedia has posted. Dreamweaver has about 11 compatibility issues though none of them look to be too serious.

Linux getting the shaft in ColdFusion 7

coldfusion I was just looking at the Linux system requirements for ColdFusion MX 7. For supported linux operating systems, it lists:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS & ES 2.1 or 3.0

Central Book Finder Application

books web Now that Central 1.5 is out, I can release this Central Book Finder Application that I wrote back in December when Central 1.0 was out.

I couldn't release it under the Central 1.0 license, but now with the Central 1.5 Open Distribution License I can.

Macromedia Central, and Synchronized Applications

web Macromedia has a presentation about the upcoming Macromedia Central platform.

The presentation notes that there are 750,000 Flash developers, and there is a $2.2B market for these "Permium Internet Content Applications" (Jupiter Research).
