Get Wheelin!

Rob Cameron has just released version 0.1 of ColdFusion on Wheels a MVC framework for ColdFusion, and inspired by Ruby on Rails.

There's no better way to get started than to check out his 8 min. video tutorial. And if your new to Ruby on Rails check out their 15 min video.

I think a framework like this that can do lots the grunt work for you, is a great match for ColdFusion. Lets not forget while you can build very complex enterprise applications with ColdFusion, most developers are building really simple web sites. ColdFusion's strength is that it is a very abstract, and easy to use language - it should have frameworks that can leverage these strengths.

Rob thanks for taking the initiative!

Any idea how he's translating the URL's? I heard some mention of "Apache config" .... do you think he meant "RewriteRule"?

Yep, Apache rewrite rules! The actual rules are contained in an .htaccess file in the Wheels package so you don't need to worry about them, other than making sure rewrite rules are turned on in Apache.
