RDS Security Problems?
Erki Esken posted a comment on Ben Forta's blog asking if the source to the RDS plugin for Eclipse would be released. Forta's response was:"But, my gut feel is that it would not be a good idea to fully expose the source for RDS as that may create potential security problems.

Studio 8 drops the MX
I just noticed that Macromedia Studio 8 has dropped the MX branding that all their web development products have had for the last few years.ColdFusion version 7 still has the MX branding, and was released about 6 months ago.

Macromedia Example Applications
Looking for example applications built with Macromedia products? I found this list of Macromedia sample applications in the del.icio.us side bar on cfmx.org.
There are Flex, Flash, ColdFusion, and Dreamweaver example apps there.

Macromedia Site Search Broken
I just noticed that Macromedia's site search is throwing a coldfusion exception. Hmm no global error handler on macromedia.com?On a related note the search in MXNA doesn't seam to return any results either. Not a good day for search at Macromedia.

Macromedia and OS X v10.4 / Tiger Compatibility
Note that if you plan to use Dreamweaver, FreeHand, or Contribute on Mac OS X 10.4, Tiger, there are some known issues that Macromedia has posted. Dreamweaver has about 11 compatibility issues though none of them look to be too serious.

Central Book Finder Application
Now that Central 1.5 is out, I can release this Central Book Finder Application that I wrote back in December when Central 1.0 was out.I couldn't release it under the Central 1.0 license, but now with the Central 1.5 Open Distribution License I can.

Macromedia Central, and Synchronized Applications
Macromedia has a presentation about the upcoming Macromedia Central platform. The presentation notes that there are 750,000 Flash developers, and there is a $2.2B market for these "Permium Internet Content Applications" (Jupiter Research).
