Robi Sen on Hung Servers, java.lang.OutOfMemory errors and Tuning CF JVM
November 19, 2004

Robi Sen a while back posted a blog entry with some useful tips on solving java.lang.OutOfMemory exceptions, and tuning the JVM for ColdFusion MX. He has recently posted a follow up to that entry.
Here are some old blog entries I have posted on tuning the JVM:

Pete, I blogged a demo as a WMV file of setting up and getting visualGC running here http://www.robisen.com/index.cfm?mode=entry&entry=62DA6B70-55DC-F2B1-FEA42CCCDCB4BE09 based on one of your earlier blog entries. THe new JVMstat 3.0 has diffrent options and requires teh JDK 1.5 (or 5.0 I always get that confused :-). I have been thinking of showing how visualGC potraies diffrent JVM attributes in a movie and discussing them and will if people think that is useful.
